Mills Landing is a private oceanfront cottage resort located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. We are on the southern edge of Barkley Sound in the little town of Bamfield.

This area, without question, is one of the most productive marine environments in the world. We have some of the west coast's best fishing right on our doorstep, and we are the closest access point to offshore fisheries that are truly world class. At Mills Landing we have five solid months of great fishing...and that's no fish story.

Come and see why more anglers choose to fish these waters than anywhere else in Canada. The west coast of Vancouver Island is paradise, and if you are looking for the best the west coast has to offer....look no further than here.

Sorry everyone about the lack of reports, we have just been fishing so much lately that we haven't had a chance to get to the computer.

Salmon season is fully in swing out here, there are lots of fish around on the banks, and stacked too. We picked up two smilies last week on a double-header at 120 and 50 out at the big banks...they were at all depths, all day. The fishing has been awesome, and it's the end of June, and we are just heading into the best part of the year so we are all pretty stoked to see what's to come. Tyees showed up last week on the flat tops and we had some fun with some big fish for a few days before they cruised on through. Schools of smaller chinook filled in their wake and we fished on those for a few days before getting some info about some big fish at a different locale further up. Fish are moving through in waves right now and you just need to be fishing or talk to the guides to stay on top of them.

The coho are here, and on some days we've seen lot's of wild ones, but a few nice hatchery guys have started to hit the cleaning tables.

We had some incredible days last week, glassy conditions, non-stop fishing and big fish too, so hopefully this week will be just as good. The forecast looks decent for the next little while, so we will keep you posted.

We had some cancellations in July due to a death and a mis-communication, so if anyone wants to come up in the middle of the month, we now have room!

Tight lines,

Millsy
