Hali's are starting to show up this week, and we've had a few come in from spots close to Beale, Folger and Sea Pool Rocks. Al Collins hooked into this monster on Thursday morning and managed to get it in the boat, with the help of his guide Jeff, after a long battle. She tipped the scales at 126 lbs and this is the biggest hali caught this year in Barkley that we know of. A couple of other guys have had success at 5 mile, 7 mile and we talked to one guy that went all the way to the Big Bank this week and got 4, 2 of which were over 50 lbs.
Salmon fishing has been slow, but we're starting to get a few as more bait is showing up in Barkley. Now that the weather is getting better, we can do more hali trips and nose outside a little more without getting pounded too bad, but the last couple of weeks of weather have been pretty tough.
Time to get out here and bring your salmon bellies.
Tight lines,
Brad
