Fishing is hot right now, and after scratch fishing at the beginning of June the springs and halibut are here in good numbers and everyone's getting them.

Offshore has been really strong over the last 2 weeks with limits of springs and halibut being the norm. The fish are stacked between 60 feet and the bottom and that's usually a sign of big numbers. Most guys have been fishing the Big Bank, but some have got springs at 7 and 10 mile. With the amount of fish at 24 mile you can only listen to the radio for so long before you are pulling the gear up and running all the way out there.

Inside has been really good at Scott's Bay right around the corner from Bamfield Inlet, and Swale Rock and Kirby have been good this week too. 60-90 feet mostly on anchovies. A 35 and a 32 have already come out of Kirby this week and there's lots of action and bait inside right now.

The weather's been NWest for the most part and there's lot's of bait, whales and birds out here right now, and it looks like the season is in full-swing.

Tight lines,

ML
