Springs up to 29lbs were being caught this weekend, with the biggest coming out of Kirby Pt. Kirby produced some decent numbers on Monday, and some other guys were having good success out at 7 mile. A couple of buddies got skunked out at 5 mile and 7 mile but for those who stuck it out through the tide change, limits of springs was their reward, and a couple of troll caught chickens.

Bait is still everywhere in Barkley and a lot of it is needlefish and juvenile herring. Needledfish hootchies have been deadly over the last couple of days, and the fish have been deep, coming up from 110-130, although the guy who got the 29lber get it at 29 feet if you can believe it.

Hali's are coming in from the offshore and inshore too. This 55lb beauty was picked up at Kirby Pt on a needlefish hootchie trolling for springs at 110 feet...way to go Judy!

Heading offshore for hali's this weekend, the weather forecast is looking nice and the tides aren't bad. There's some cottages available if anyone wants to come up and tag along this weekend, the fishing has just kept getting better over the last couple of weeks and the size is definitely up.

Tight lines,

Millsy
