Bamfield
The town of Bamfield (pop. 300) is perched at the southern entrance of Barkley Sound on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Bamfield's history and much of its charm is tied to the ocean and the abundance of natural resources here. Bamfield’s layout reflects it’s water-based heritage and the town is oriented around two natural waterways that serve as its main streets. The oldest part of Bamfield is the town’s west side, which is home to the majority of the town’s resort and accommodation facilities (including us), and most are connected by a waterfront boardwalk.
Mills Landing is located in west Bamfield, which is accessible only by water. You can drive to the east side of Bamfield, but need to cross the inlet to reach west Bamfield (only a couple hundred meters). We provide pickup and delivery of all guests across the water to the cottages on the west side.
With a major part of this community being accessible only by water, it has a sense and feel unlike any other on the coast. The people here love and embrace their natural setting, and this is truly one of the most beautiful places on Vancouver Island.
