Keeha Beach

Keeha Beach is a beautiful, crescent shaped sandy beach. There are large sand dune areas high up on the beach that offer fantastic camping spots. There is freshwater here, but treat or filter as always. There are rocky headlands on both ends of the beach which have fantastic tide pools, and there is a seas arch on the south end of the beach. The area usually doesn't see a lot of people, although it can be busy at times during the peak of the summer. The hike is far enough that it is usually a great escape from the crowds.

Directions:

About 1.5 km (40 min.) in from the trailhead you will come to a junction on the trail that is marked. Hikers can travel from here to Keeha Beach , or to Tapaltos Beach and the Cape Beale headlands.

The Keeha Beach Trail is an additional 2km from this junction (allow 1hr). At the south-east corner of Kichha Lake there is a floating bridge crossing, and then the trail rises over a steep and difficult hill at the back of the beach.
