Nature Adventures

Barkley Sound is a playground for anyone interested in the outdoors. There are lots of things to do, both on the land and on the water, and most guests say they didn’t have enough time to do everything.

For landlubbers there are lots of great hikes in the area, ranging from a 20 min walk to Brady’s beach, to 4-hour day hikes, to a 6-day trek of the legendary west coast trail. There are several beaches and some great tide pools to discover, old-growth trees to marvel at, and the charming town of Bamfield to explore by sea-side boardwalk.

For those who want to get out on the water and see the marine life of the west coast, we offer trips to the Broken Islands and whale watching tours with our resident marine biologist. If you would like to try your hand at fishing, setting prawn traps, or maybe going ashore and exploring you just let us know!
